Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19)
Austin Hand Group remained open through the COVID-19 initial executive order for urgent and traumatic care, and will continue to be available for patients and referring physicians. We have expanded evaluation and management services for not only urgent, but also non-urgent conditions via both telemedicine and in-office appointments (including Occupational Therapy). Elective surgery scheduling has resumed.
The COVID-19 disaster is a rapidly evolving situation, therefore, we will remain diligent to adhere to each of the executive orders and physician practice recommendations through the governing entities.
TELEMEDICINE APPOINTMENTS - Telemedicine appointments can be scheduled for all providers, including Occupational Therapy. Your insurance carrier may be covering telemedicine visits at a waived copay/deductible. Call the member services number on the back of your card and inquire if your carrier has made such a waiver during the COVID-19 disaster for your specific plan. General eligibility and benefits for your insurance plan will be obtained by AHG staff for routine copays, deductibles, and surgery estimates.
IN-OFFICE APPOINTMENTS - We are currently scheduling in-office appointments for all providers, including Occupational Therapy, with the following requirements:
FACE MASKS/COVERING - A face mask or covering will remain required when entering the building and while in the exam room, regardless of vaccination status. This is in accordance with CDC and TMA guidance that patients, physicians, and staff, regardless of their vaccination status, should continue to wear a face mask for source control in health care facilities.
